The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) school system spans the globe from Asia to Europe to the Americas. As part of the Department of Defense Dependents Schools in Europe (DoDDS-E), Kaiserslautern District is one of five school districts. The District Superintendent's Office (DSO) and its 20 schools are located in Germany. Each school is accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) of Schools.

Our Leadership

Mrs. MangleburgLawanna Mangleburg became the Kaiserslautern District Superintendent in July 2005. She is committed to ensure the social, emotional and academic growth of children and feels that this is why we are here. Two of the main goals throughout DoDEA schools are for all students to meet or exceed challenging standards, as well as to form stronger partnerships between parents, the schools and the community.

Mrs. GrandeThroughout Elaine Grande’s career as an educator, she has earned the reputation of being a leader who is decisive and fair and always focused on her goal of what is best for students. She fosters school partnerships with families and community organizations and is known by her colleagues, parents and community members as not only a good communicator, but also a good listener.

Mrs. ForystekMrs. Kathryn Forystek was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas. She received both her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Elementary Education from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. In addition to her elementary certification, she has completed coursework that allowed her to be certified in secondary mathematics, general science, social studies and speech.
